Senior / Staff Platform Engineer

What you’ll do:

Work on core Radar technology using TypeScript, Rust, Python and Scala.

Collaborate with our product engineering and SRE teams to build highly available systems with 99.99%+ monthly uptime.

Work with product, SRE, and data teams to enable self-serve capabilities, including build/test/deploy infrastructure, observability improvements, data pipeline investments, and automation.

Build and support core platform capabilities like IAM, feature flagging, application rate limiting, and more.

Drive development, including supporting our server, frontend, mobile, and desktop frameworks, and integrating safe AI-enabled development practices throughout our SDLC.

With QA, enable test automation and coverage for developers throughout our application, data, and infrastructure stack.

Help integrate security and compliance practices into every stage of the development lifecycle, from design to deployment.

Have your work power 1 billion+ API calls a day and used on 300MM+ devices

Talk to Radar customers and prospects, hear their feedback, incorporate it into your work and make them successful

You should:

Have a good understanding of coding practices and system design, and be strongly familiar with infrastructure technologies.

Have experience at a high growth startup

Think of yourself as a generalist engineer first, not tied to any particular stack

Be interested in talking to customers or prospects and making them successful

Bonus points if you:

Are a former technical co-founder

Have worked on a high throughput, high growth SaaS application

Have worked on geospatial infrastructure

Compensation:

For candidates based in the United States, the base salary range for this full-time position is between $200,000 - $300,000/year with an opportunity for performance bonuses and incentives.

Skills Required
Experience with TypeScript and Node.js
Experience with Rust
Experience with Python and/or Scala
Experience building highly available systems (99.99%+ uptime)
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Terraform
Familiarity with MongoDB, S3/Athena, Redis, and Airflow
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
Experience enabling build/test/deploy infrastructure, observability, and automation
Experience integrating security and compliance into the development lifecycle
Ability and willingness to talk to customers and incorporate feedback
Collaborate with QA to enable test automation and coverage
