What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; request additional assistance and/or emergency services when appropriate.
Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
