Job Summary
The Advancement Manager is a key member of the Advancement Team and plays an essential role in bringing Pressman's story to life through digital communications, print materials, social media, school events, and fundraising support. Working closely with the Director of Advancement and the Development Director to support the entire Advancement team, this position helps ensure that all school communications are timely, engaging, visually compelling, and aligned with Pressman's brand and also ensures Pressman Academy’s development work is executed with care, precision, and consistency.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong design instincts and excellent communication skills. This person enjoys juggling multiple projects, thrives in a fast-paced school environment, and is equally comfortable creating a beautifully designed flyer, photographing school life, welcoming a prospective family, crafting an Instagram caption, and maintaining fundraising spreadsheets.
The Advancement Manager reports to the Director of Advancement.
Communications & Marketing
Proactively identify communications needs and help move projects from concept to completion.
Develop, manage, and execute the school's communications calendar.
Create, schedule, and distribute communications across multiple platforms, including ParentSquare, Constant Contact, social media, and the school website.
Produce the weekly HaShavua newsletter.
Help streamline family communications to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and well coordinated.
Help maintain a consistent visual identity and brand experience across all communications.
Design a wide variety of digital and print materials, including flyers, invitations, signage, presentations, social media graphics, and other marketing collateral.
Create polished communications quickly using Canva and other design tools.
Assist in the production of admissions, fundraising, and school marketing materials.
Manage the school's social media accounts and help create engaging content.
Photograph school events and campus life.
Organize and maintain the school's digital photo and video library.
Coordinate with outside photographers and videographers as needed.
Admissions, Operations & Event Support
Welcome prospective families during admissions visits and events.
Assist with Open Houses and other admissions programming.
Help coordinate the Student Ambassador program.
Prepare admissions packets, folders, and other printed materials.
Assist with the planning and execution of school events run by the Advancement department.
Partner with the DOD to plan and execute donor events, including Grandparents Day, donor gatherings, and campaign-related events
Manage invitations, RSVPs, and event logistics
Oversee post-event follow-up, including acknowledgments and communications
Coordinate the sourcing, ordering, and organization of various materials for school initiatives and events.
Provide administrative support to the Director of Advancement and Advancement team as needed.
Fundraising
Prepare solicitation and follow-up lists and monitor progress toward goals
Own the accurate and timely processing of all gifts and pledges across annual, capital, and special campaigns
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in ShulCloud and related tracking systems
Reconcile all gifts, pledges, and payments with the Finance Office and resolve discrepancies proactively
Ensure all pledges are billed appropriately and follow up as needed
Maintain organized, accessible digital records of all donor activity
Prepare and send acknowledgment letters within 48 hours of receiving gift information; coordinate HOS signatures as needed
Maintain and execute a monthly stewardship calendar, ensuring all donor touchpoints are timely and meaningful
Coordinate donor recognition efforts, including plaques, naming opportunities, campaign signage and special mailings
Track fulfillment of donor commitments, including matching gifts and recognition deliverables
Support donor communications, including newsletters, annual reports, and targeted outreach
Support the planning and execution of all development campaigns, including the Annual Campaign, Grandparents Campaign, Endowment Campaign and Capital Campaign
Support volunteer coordination, including Staff and Class Captains
Assist with campaign reporting, summaries, and post-campaign analysis
Assist with donor research, tracking, and follow-up
Support preparation of presentations, proposals, and donor materials
Required Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills
Excellent written, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong graphic design skills with experience using Canva; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom) is preferred
Experience managing social media platforms, email marketing platforms, and website content
Comfort working with data systems and managing multiple workflows
Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information

Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Photography and basic photo editing skills preferred, content creation and video editing skills is a plus
Basic Hebrew is a plus
