Job Summary
Passionately support young children's play, exploration, inquiry, and creative/critical thinking while working collaboratively to provide the highest quality care for our children and families.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
Uphold the center's mission, philosophy and goals
Support children's growth and development as a facilitator of play
Model developmentally appropriate early childhood practices and set a Welcoming, positive, fun, and collaborative tone for the classroom.
Provide nurturing, sensitive, and individualized care to children and create an inviting classroom environment
Support, implement, and model positive, respectful guidance and discipline techniques
Communicate effectively and openly with parents, director, and colleagues and while developing and maintaining mutually supportive relationships
Daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children
Maintain the overall classroom in a safe, clean and orderly environment
Participate in all school activities, including professional development, staff meetings and events, social events, family events, etc.
Coach Assistant Teacher by providing feedback, delegating responsibilities and supporting Assistant Teacher's professional growth
Demonstrate a working knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice, and take initiative to seek out professional articles and training opportunities to build on knowledge
Qualifications:
A minimum of one-year experience with children in a professional or volunteer environment.
College Degree in early childhood education or elementary education.
Must be able to pass a full background check.
Warm, friendly personality and ability to relate well to young children, families, and staff.
Demonstratable passion for working with young children.
Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, as well as ability to oversee and engage in safe physical activity with children.
Flexible, adaptable and dependable.
