Job description
About the Role
The Virtual Account Manager will serve as a remote sales and education resource for healthcare professionals using our client’s wound care product. This position is part of a new pilot program designed to expand and evaluate a virtual approach to customer engagement and product adoption. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and shape the program while making a meaningful impact with healthcare professionals and patients.
The position is a 6-12-month temporary project, and continuation beyond the pilot period will depend on the program's success and ongoing business needs. In this role, you will help prescribers understand product use, identify appropriate patient opportunities, support adoption, and maintain productive customer relationships. You will be responsible for meeting activity and sales goals while documenting interactions accurately and following established client and program expectations
What You’ll Do
Execute inbound and outbound sales activities using phone, video, email, text, live chat, and other approved communication channels.
Build and maintain relationships with prescribers, customers, and key contacts in acute and post-acute care environments.
Qualify leads, manage follow-up activity, overcome objections, and close opportunities within an efficient sales cycle.
Support prescription activity and product utilization by providing timely, professional education and follow-up.
Collaborate with management to execute business plans, meet sales and volume targets, and continuously improve program performance.
Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and customers, including scheduled follow-up calls, campaign outreach, and inbound inquiries.
Meet defined activity expectations, such as education sessions, calls, decision-maker contacts, opportunities opened, and sales closed.
Document all customer activity accurately in the CRM, including contact details, notes, opportunities, next steps, and scheduled actions.
Conduct virtual education sessions through video with healthcare professionals on product use, disease-state context, patient selection, and best practices for patient adoption.
Adapt communication and solutions to customer needs while staying aligned with product instructions for use and program requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
Proven success in pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, or other sales environments.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales quotas and activity goals.
Strong consultative selling skills, including rapport building, needs discovery, feature-and-benefit communication, objection handling, and closing.
Excellent written, verbal, telephone, and presentation skills, with a professional and customer-focused communication style.
Ability to educate healthcare professionals clearly and confidently in a virtual setting.
Experience using a CRM platform to manage customer records, document activity, track opportunities, and schedule follow-up.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond professionally to changing customer, client, and program needs.
Ability to work collaboratively with teammates, managers, customers, and business partners.
Comfortable working in a goal-driven environment with defined call strategies, activity expectations, and performance metrics.
Preferred Experience
Four-year Technical or Business Degree or equivalent combination of education plus experience.
Prefer two or more years of experience in wound care, a clinical setting, or healthcare education.
Experience supporting prescribers or healthcare professionals in acute or post-acute care settings.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
