We are a growing New York City textile company looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Production Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced fashion/textiles environment and excels at cross-functional communication.

Working alongside our Production Manager and Data Entry team, you will take direct ownership of pre-production processes while supporting daily operations across design, sales, and overseas factories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Request, track, and follow up on fabric and trim samples from factories and vendors to keep development timelines on schedule.

• Request detailed costing information from production partners and maintain clean, organized cost sheets for internal review.

• Serve as a daily liaison between Design, Sales, and overseas factories to ensure accurate information flow regarding garment/textile specs and development status.

• Manage independent daily workflow tasks while assisting the Production Manager with pre-production milestones.

• Maintain physical and digital sample libraries, ensuring all swatches, lab dips, and approvals are organized and easily accessible.

• Collaborate with the Data Entry Clerk to ensure seamless transitions from development stage to active order creation.

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in textile, apparel, or fashion production/development.

• Strong understanding of garment/textile development processes, sample tracking, and costing components.

• Exceptional organizational skills with strict attention to detail.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear daily interaction with domestic teams and international factories.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software (PLM software experience is a plus).

• Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and problem-solve in a fast-moving environment.
