About JChag JCamp is part of the JPrograms family at Temple B’nai Abraham, alongside JStart, JPlay, and JLP. It is designed to meet families where they are and bring Jewish life to life in meaningful and joyful ways. Held on select Jewish holidays and public school vacation days, JCamp offers children the opportunity to experience Judaism through hands on, creative programming rooted in tradition, community, and fun. Each day is thoughtfully designed to create lasting memories, deepen connection, and build a sense of belonging. Position Overview Under the direction of the Director of Jewish Education, the JCamp Site Director leads the planning and implementation of each JCamp day. This role is ideal for an educator who is organized, creative, and energized by building community through joyful Jewish experiences. The Site Director ensures that every JCamp day runs smoothly and safely while creating a warm and engaging environment where children feel excited to participate and proud to be part of something meaningful. Key Responsibilities Create Meaningful Jewish Experiences Design and lead engaging, age appropriate programming connected to Jewish holidays and values Bring holidays to life through hands on activities such as art, cooking, music, storytelling, and movement Create experiences that children will talk about at home and want to return to Lead with Warmth and Purpose Hire, supervise, and support a team of educators and counselors Set a positive tone that reflects the values of JPrograms including joy, inclusion, and community Lead staff with clarity, encouragement, and a collaborative spirit Build Community Create an environment where every child feels seen, supported, and included Develop relationships with families and serve as a welcoming and approachable presence Model enthusiasm for Jewish life in a way that is accessible to all background Ensure Smooth Daily Operations Oversee schedules, transitions, and overall program flow Manage materials, setup, and logistics for each program day Maintain a safe, organized, and well run environment Communicate clearly with families and leadership Qualifications Background in Jewish education preferred Educators from secular school settings with strong leadership and program design experience are encouraged to apply Experience working with children in camp, school, or informal education settings Strong organizational and communication skills A natural leader who brings warmth, flexibility, and positivity Creative thinker who enjoys building hands on, experiential learning Passion for creating joyful, meaningful experiences for children Willingness to work at the synagogue on Jewish holidays as part of the core program schedule Schedule Part time position Program runs on select Jewish holidays and public school vacation days Additional planning and coordination hours as needed this is a contract position, payable on a per event schedule of $500-$1000 per program.
