This leader will own the strategic direction and operational oversight of credit policy development, ensuring all underwriting criteria are risk-aligned, investor-compliant, and digitally executable. You will serve as a key partner to Risk, Capital Markets, Product, and Operations—driving clarity, consistency, and scalability across all credit decisioning processes.
In this role, you will provide strategic oversight of policy research, system automation, and audit readiness while fostering innovation in digital underwriting and credit enablement. What You’ll Do
Credit Policy Leadership & Strategy
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of SoFi’s home lending credit policies, ensuring they align with enterprise risk appetite, investor standards, and business objectives.
Define and manage the credit policy governance framework, including approval processes, documentation standards, and version control practices.
Partner with senior leadership to identify emerging credit risk trends and recommend proactive policy adjustments.
Oversee the roadmap for credit automation and decisioning logic to enable efficient, consistent underwriting outcomes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
Serve as the primary liaison between Credit Risk, Capital Markets, Product, and Operations to align on policy design, implementation, and investor acceptance.
Represent Credit Policy in governance committees, product development discussions, and cross-functional steering groups.
Provide executive-level insights on credit trends, investor changes, and policy performance metrics.
Operational Excellence & System Enablement
Direct the translation of credit policy into executable business rules within systems such as Encompass LOS and credit decisioning engines.
Oversee UAT, policy-driven releases, and control validation to ensure digital accuracy and audit compliance.
Ensure policy language and logic are harmonized across internal guides, overlays, and automated systems.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Establish and maintain strong governance around policy management, including audit trails, documentation, and version tracking.
Oversee investor guideline vetting, agency updates, and compliance acceptability reviews.
Partner with Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk to ensure controls are effective and deficiencies are remediated promptly.
Lead responses to external reviews, investor inquiries, and audit examinations related to credit policy.
Team Development & Mentorship
Provide mentorship and direction to policy analysts and cross-functional partners supporting policy execution.
Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and precision within the credit policy function.
Build scalable processes and tools to improve policy delivery speed and accuracy.
