Job description
Our client, a construction and building supply distribution company, is seeking a results-driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead the company's marketing strategy, e-commerce operations, and digital growth initiatives. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth, maximizing profitability, enhancing customer experience, and overseeing all online business operations.
The CMO will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across SEO, paid advertising, email marketing, website management, online marketplaces, customer retention, and brand development. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, building and managing high-performing teams while maintaining accountability for business performance, operational efficiency, and long-term company value.
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CMO will work closely with the CFO, Controller, COO, and CRO to align marketing and e-commerce initiatives with organizational goals and profitability targets.
Requirements:
- Lead all marketing, e-commerce, and online growth initiatives.
- Develop and execute strategic plans that drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
- Oversee company websites and online marketplaces, ensuring optimal functionality, user experience, product accuracy, pricing accuracy, and inventory synchronization.
- Manage SEO, paid advertising, email marketing, website optimization, analytics, and online reputation management.
- Build, lead, mentor, and hold accountable a high-performing marketing and digital operations team.
- Direct creative strategy and oversee development of marketing assets, advertising campaigns, and brand initiatives.
- Implement systems and automation that improve customer engagement, retention, and repeat purchases.
- Monitor key performance indicators including online sales growth, gross profit, marketing ROI, conversion rates, website performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to improve operational efficiency, warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, pricing controls, and profitability.
- Maintain a customer-first mindset by ensuring exceptional service, timely communication, and efficient issue resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement through SOP development, workflow optimization, automation, and process enhancements.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen with full ownership of departmental performance and profitability outcomes.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Staten Island, NY.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing and e-commerce leadership experience, including executive-level responsibilities.
- Proven success scaling online sales and driving measurable revenue growth through digital marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing B2B e-commerce platforms and customer portals.
- Strong background in SEO, paid search, conversion rate optimization, email marketing, and customer acquisition strategies.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, including in-house employees, freelancers, and external agencies.
- Strong understanding of website management, marketplace operations, product catalog management, and digital customer journeys.
- Experience with pricing strategy, margin management, and profit optimization initiatives.
- Proven ability to analyze financial and operational performance metrics and translate insights into business decisions.
