International Logistics Manager

Job description

Our client, a home product distribution company is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and manage all inbound international shipments. This role is responsible for coordinating with freight forwarders, negotiating pricing, consolidating shipments, tracking deliveries, and working closely with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective imports. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in international logistics and supply chain operations.Responsibilities:Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with freight forwarders and logistics providersRequest, compare, and negotiate freight quotes and pricing for international importsPlan and coordinate international shipments from multiple countriesConsolidate multiple shipments into single loads when possible to optimize cost and efficiencyTrack shipments from origin to final destination and proactively address delays or issuesCoordinate with vendors and suppliers to schedule pickups, shipping timelines, and documentationEnsure all import documentation is accurate and compliant, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping documentsMonitor shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvementsCommunicate shipment status and timelines with internal teamsResolve logistics issues, including delays, damages, or customs-related concernsQualifications:Proven experience in logistics management, freight forwarding, or international shippingStrong understanding of import processes, shipping methods, and freight consolidationExperience negotiating rates and managing freight costsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailProficiency with logistics systems, tracking tools, and spreadsheetsExperience working with multiple international vendors and suppliersKnowledge of customs procedures and import complianceBackground in supply chain or operations managementLocation: Bayonne NJSalary: $80K
