Product Development Manager – Intimates & Sleepwear

Our client, an industry-leading, fashion-forward, multi-category apparel company seeking an ambitious and highly organized Designer/Product Developer – Intimates, Sleepwear, Hosiery, Slippers to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing the full product lifecycle from initial concept through production.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator with a strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and development processes.Responsibilities:Own the product development process from concept through productionCollaborate with Creative Director and Sales teams to establish target costs and seasonal development plansMonitor and manage the development calendar to ensure deadlines are metAssist with vendor selection and maintain strong factory relationshipsCommunicate daily with overseas manufacturers and internal team membersRequest, receive, track, review, and approve samples and materials from factoriesManage the sample flow through all stages: Salesman Samples, Fit Tests, Pre-Production, and TOPFollow up on product specifications, quality standards, lab dips, testing, and sample approvalsEnsure all samples meet design, fit, and quality expectationsOrganize and maintain all development samples throughout the officeCreate and maintain line sheets and costing sheets throughout the development seasonEnsure BOMs are accurate and finalized in collaboration with Design and Technical teamsMaintain detailed and accurate product records and documentationCoordinate and attend product fittingsCommunicate fit and construction feedback to vendors and internal teamsCoordinate with the packaging team to verify UPC assignments, labeling, and packaging detailsPrepare and coordinate samples for photoshoots, NY showroom, NJ showroom, and sales team needsPrepare purchase orders and track order detailsMonitor production status to ensure on-time deliveryProactively identify and resolve production issues or delaysQualifications:5+ years of design & product development experience within an apparel or accessories companyStrong experience in intimates and sleepwear preferredIn-depth knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, textiles, and fittingsExperience with specs, lab testing, and quality standardsProficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Illustrator knowledge is a plusExceptional communication and negotiation skillsStrong attention to detail with a refined sense of design and colorSelf-motivated with a strong sense of urgencyExcellent time management and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyProactive problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot effectivelyExperience with seamless bralettes and underwear is a strong plusOn-time production and delivery with minimal issuesLocation: Linden NJSalary: $120K
