We are seeking a hands-on Director of Software Development to lead and guide the development team on a day-to-day basis. This is a leadership role for a highly technical individual who can oversee execution, enforce timelines, improve development processes, and ensure high-quality software delivery.The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with operational discipline, playing a key role in shaping the software development lifecycle while remaining actively involved in problem-solving and technical decision-making.Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & Team Execution:Provide daily technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to the development teamReview code, resolve blockers, and ensure quality, consistency, and accountabilityStep into development work, debugging, or technical problem-solving when requiredEstablish and enforce timelines, ensuring on-time and high-quality deliveryIdentify skill gaps, support team development, and assist with hiring decisionsPromote a productive, accountable, and solution-focused development environmentSoftware Development Lifecycle & Delivery:Partner with leadership to define priorities, timelines, and deliverablesOversee all phases of development, including new builds, enhancements, maintenance, and supportContinuously improving workflows, QA/testing standards, documentation, and release readinessEnsure systems are built for performance, scalability, usability, and long-term maintainabilitySupport automation and AI initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven processesDeployments & Technical Standards:Oversee release planning, production deployments, and version control practicesEnsure proper rollback planning and post-deployment support processesAdvise leadership on architecture, system improvements, technical risks, and security practicesMaintain high standards for data integrity, access control, and system reliabilityCollaboration & Business Support:Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholdersWork cross-functionally to clarify requirements, solve issues, and align solutions with business needsProvide transparency around risks, timelines, and progressQualifications:5+ years of software development experience, including senior-level technical leadershipStrong full-stack experience (e.g., .NET, C#, SQL Server, NestJS, Git)Solid front-end knowledge (e.g., Angular, React, UI/UX principles)Proven experience leading developers, reviewing code, and managing delivery from planning through deploymentStrong communication, ownership, attention to detail, and accountabilityAbility to balance strategic oversight with hands-on technical involvementIdeal Candidate:The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who thrives on improving execution, building structure, and elevating team performance.
