A growing Tax Credits company is seeking a Director of Finance to build structure, systems, and scalable financial processes across the organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in data-heavy environments, understands compliance and filing workflows, and can bring order and efficiency to an overloaded operation. Beyond execution, this individual will be a strategic thinker with the leadership presence and mindset to grow into a future company leader. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and optimize financial systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Oversee backend financial operations, including data management, filings, reporting, and internal controls related to tax credit programs. Analyze financial and operational data to identify bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for process improvement. Provide financial leadership across the organization, supporting management with insights, structure, and long-term planning. Skills: Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage complex, data-driven financial operations. Process-oriented mindset with experience building and improving systems and workflows. High level of analytical skill and attention to detail, especially in compliance-heavy environments. Leadership presence and communication skills with the potential to grow into an executive-level role. Requirements: Background in finance, accounting, tax, or a related field (CPA not required). Experience working with filings, compliance, or structured financial programs (tax credits experience a plus). Proven ability to create order in fast-paced or understaffed environments. Strong Excel and financial systems proficiency; experience with financial software and reporting tools. Demonstrated initiative, ownership mindset, and long-term leadership potential.
