Bloom’s Kosher is seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Operations Director to lead day-to-day operational performance across inventory, warehouse logistics, purchasing coordination, routing efficiency, ERP/WMS implementation, and cross-department workflow alignment. This role ensures the company operates fast, accurately, and profitably while supporting rapid product launches, private-label growth, and large-account execution (including Bingo Wholesale and regional distributors). The Operations Manager reports directly to the Leadership Team and plays a central role in scaling the company toward its long-term growth goals. Key Objectives of the Role The Operations Manager is responsible for: ✅ Improving operational efficiency ✅ Ensuring accurate inventory and FIFO compliance ✅ Supporting ERP and WMS implementation ✅ Managing warehouse and logistics personnel ✅ Strengthening shipping & receiving execution ✅ Building measurable driver and route performance metrics ✅ Supporting purchasing coordination and availability ✅ Maintaining cost discipline across operations ✅ Creating standardized workflows and accountability systems Core Responsibilities 1. Warehouse Operations Leadership Oversee all warehouse execution including: Inventory accuracy and cycle count systems FIFO compliance across product categories Slotting strategy and pick-path efficiency Order picking performance Staging and shipment readiness Returns processing Damage and shrinkage reduction programs Cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance Responsible for building a structured and disciplined warehouse workflow environment 2. Shipping & Receiving Oversight Direct responsibility for improving both process and personnel performance across: Receiving: PO intake verification vendor accuracy tracking inbound scheduling coordination discrepancy reporting receiving speed metrics Shipping: order accuracy staging efficiency pallet configuration quality route readiness timing outbound documentation accuracy Develop SOPs that ensure consistency across shifts and staff. 3. Inventory Control & Availability Ensure inventory supports sales growth without creating excess carrying costs: Responsibilities include: maintaining inventory accuracy targets enforcing FIFO compliance identifying slow-moving inventory risks coordinating with purchasing and sales supporting forecasting alignment managing stock availability for key accounts supporting seasonal inventory planning Especially important for: promotions private label commitments new product launches 4. ERP & WMS Implementation Leadership Serve as internal operational lead for: ERP deployment WMS rollout workflow adoption process documentation training warehouse staff system discipline enforcement reporting structure development Ensure the company transitions from manual execution to data-driven operations 5. Transportation & Route Optimization Responsible for maximizing delivery efficiency by monitoring: truck utilization route density stop efficiency order sequencing driver productivity delivery timing performance Coordinate closely with: Sales team Warehouse team Dispatch Customer service Develop measurable KPIs such as: deliveries per route cases per stop cases per truck time per route on-time delivery % 6. Driver Performance Metrics & Accountability Build and manage driver tracking systems including: route completion timing stop productivity loading accuracy delivery compliance documentation accuracy safety performance Create performance dashboards leadership can review weekly. 7. Purchasing & Supply Coordination Support Partner with purchasing team to ensure: stock availability aligns with demand inbound shipments arrive on schedule lead-time risk is visible early promotions are supported operationally new SKUs launch smoothly Serve as operational bridge between: Purchasing Warehouse Sales Imports 8. Workflow Standardization & SOP Development Create repeatable operational systems across departments: Examples: receiving procedures picking procedures loading procedures driver dispatch procedures inventory adjustments transfer processes returns handling promotion staging workflows Goal: reduce dependency on tribal knowledge and increase scalability. 9. Cost Control & Budget Support Support leadership in managing operational costs including: labor efficiency delivery costs warehouse productivity damage reduction inventory carrying costs overtime tracking route profitability Assist in preparing and monitoring operational budgets. 10. Team Leadership & Personnel Management Directly manage warehouse and logistics personnel including: warehouse staff receiving team shipping team drivers inventory control staff Responsibilities include: scheduling performance coaching hiring input discipline enforcement workflow training productivity measurement Build a culture of accountability and ownership. 11. KPI Dashboard Development Develop weekly leadership reporting covering: inventory accuracy order accuracy truck utilization delivery efficiency receiving performance backorder levels fill rates warehouse productivity driver metrics Present updates to leadership team weekly. 12. Cross-Department Coordination Work closely with: Sales Purchasing Imports Finance Customer Service Ownership Ensure operational execution supports company growth priorities.
