Production Supervisor Bloom Packaging Corp. Position Summary Bloom Packaging Corp. is seeking a hands-on, highly organized, and results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee all aspects of production and packaging operations. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining adequate staffing, purchasing production packaging and bulk materials, managing food safety and regulatory compliance, and ensuring all production equipment operates safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Production & Packaging Operations Supervise all daily production and packaging activities. Ensure production schedules are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Monitor productivity, labor efficiency, product quality, and waste reduction. Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous process improvements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment. Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Serve as the facility lead for HACCP, food safety, and regulatory compliance. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA, OSHA, and all applicable food safety regulations. Maintain all required production, sanitation, and compliance documentation. Coordinate internal inspections and prepare for third-party and regulatory audits. Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production and sanitation. Ensure employees are properly trained in food safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements. Purchasing & Inventory Management Purchase all production packaging materials, bulk ingredients, and manufacturing supplies. Maintain adequate inventory levels to prevent production interruptions. Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing. Monitor inventory usage and minimize waste and excess inventory. Staffing & Leadership Ensure all production departments are properly staffed. Schedule employees, coordinate overtime, and manage temporary labor when needed. Recruit, train, coach, and develop production personnel. Conduct performance evaluations and address attendance and performance concerns. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Equipment & Maintenance Operate production machinery as needed to support manufacturing. Oversee the setup, startup, and launch of new production lines and equipment. Ensure all machinery is properly maintained and operating at peak performance. Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules with the maintenance team. Troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize production downtime. Work with equipment manufacturers and service providers on repairs, installations, and upgrades. Recommend new equipment and process improvements to increase efficiency and capacity. Quality & Operations Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure all products meet Bloom Packaging Corp.’s quality standards. Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary. Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Sales to ensure efficient operations. Support new product launches and packaging implementation. Qualifications 5+ years of manufacturing or food production experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF, FDA, and OSHA regulations. Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment. Experience managing purchasing and production inventory. Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems is preferred. Success in This Role A successful Production Supervisor will: Deliver production safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Maintain full compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements. Ensure production equipment is reliable and well maintained. Keep production materials in stock without overbuying. Build a dependable, high-performing production team. Continuously improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance while minimizing downtime and waste.
