Buyer Location: Brooklyn, NY Hours: 8:30-5:30 Compensation: $100,000 – $135,000 DOE + Commission A growing mechanical systems and building services company is seeking an experienced Buyer to oversee vendor relationships, procurement, and product sourcing. This individual will play a key role in managing purchasing operations and ensuring materials and equipment are acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and on schedule. Responsibilities Manage purchasing and procurement activities for equipment, materials, and supplies. Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and local suppliers. Negotiate pricing, terms, and purchasing agreements. Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs. Coordinate with operations and project teams to ensure timely product availability. Track orders, deliveries, and vendor performance. Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve purchasing processes. Qualifications Minimum 4+ years of relevant purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or vendor management experience. Experience working with equipment manufacturers, distributors, and product suppliers. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational and communication abilities. Experience in purchasing within the mechanical, construction, building systems, or related industries is highly preferred. Prior buying and procurement experience is a major plus.
