Job description

Director of Sales Performance Location: Brooklyn, NY Schedule: Full-Time | In-Office Compensation: $100K–$120K+ DOE About the Role A growing wholesale distribution company is seeking a Sales Performance Manager to support, coach, and improve the effectiveness of its outside sales team. This is not a sales management role and does not involve directly managing or carrying a sales territory. Instead, this person will serve as a strategic partner to the sales team—analyzing sales performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, helping resolve customer issues, and working one-on-one with sales representatives to maximize their success. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, understands sales processes, and knows how to improve performance through coaching, accountability, and problem-solving. Responsibilities Analyze individual and team sales performance to identify strengths, weaknesses, and growth opportunities. Meet regularly with sales representatives to review pipelines, customer activity, and sales results. Help sales reps improve territory management, customer retention, and overall productivity. Identify underperforming accounts and develop strategies to increase sales. Assist with customer concerns, operational challenges, and issue resolution. Work closely with ownership and the sales team to improve sales processes and execution. Monitor KPIs, sales trends, and territory performance, providing actionable recommendations. Support sales reps with planning, follow-up strategies, and account development. Encourage accountability while helping the team achieve individual and company goals. Qualifications Proven experience in sales leadership, sales operations, sales coaching, or business development. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and identify trends. Experience working with wholesale distribution, consumer products, foodservice, or a related industry is preferred. Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach. Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who knows what makes a salesperson successful and enjoys helping others improve. This individual should be able to analyze performance, identify opportunities, solve problems, and work alongside the sales team to help them perform at their highest level. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a direct impact on the growth and success of an established wholesale business.
