Job description
Human Resources Director Location: Connecticut or White Plains, NY (Hybrid) Schedule: Full-Time Compensation: $80K–$90K DOE About the Role A growing organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to serve as the primary HR leader within the company. While the organization partners with an external HR firm that manages many administrative HR functions, this individual will act as the internal HR representative—working closely with leadership, employees, and the third-party HR provider to ensure HR initiatives, policies, and employee matters are handled effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded HR professional who enjoys both strategic involvement and day-to-day employee support. Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its third-party HR provider. Partner with leadership on employee relations, organizational planning, and HR strategy. Guide managers on employee issues, performance management, and workplace best practices. Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle activities. Ensure HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements are properly implemented. Assist with employee investigations, conflict resolution, and performance-related matters. Coordinate benefits administration, leave requests, and HR documentation with the external HR provider. Monitor HR compliance and help ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee engagement, and workplace culture. Maintain confidentiality while serving as a trusted resource for employees and management. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience required. Strong generalist background with experience across multiple HR functions. Experience managing employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and compliance. Ability to work effectively with outside HR vendors and internal leadership. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Highly professional, discreet, and capable of handling confidential information. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. PHR or SHRM certification is a plus. Ideal Candidate We're looking for a hands-on HR professional who can bridge the gap between the company's leadership team and its external HR partner. The ideal candidate is proactive, approachable, and capable of managing the company's day-to-day HR needs while ensuring employees receive outstanding support and HR operations run smoothly.
