Director of Accounts Receivable Location: Monsey, NY Compensation: $300,000–$400,000 Overview A growing, mid-sized skilled nursing and long-term care organization is seeking an experienced Director of Accounts Receivable to provide strategic leadership over its revenue cycle operations. This executive-level leader will oversee accounts receivable and collections across multiple facilities, with responsibility for improving cash flow, reducing aging AR, strengthening team performance, and building scalable systems and processes. The ideal candidate will bring deep skilled nursing revenue cycle expertise, strong operational leadership, and a proven track record of improving collections and reimbursement performance. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for the Accounts Receivable and collections functions. Oversee the post-billing revenue cycle across multiple skilled nursing facilities. Develop and execute strategies to improve collections, reduce outstanding AR, and maximize reimbursement. Monitor key revenue cycle metrics and identify areas for improvement. Lead, mentor, and develop AR managers and department leadership. Establish accountability through KPIs, reporting, and performance management. Partner with Billing, Medicaid, Finance, Admissions, and facility leadership to resolve revenue cycle issues. Analyze reimbursement trends and identify the root causes of payment delays, denials, and underpayments. Develop scalable workflows, controls, and standard operating procedures. Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Private Pay requirements. Lead initiatives involving technology, automation, and revenue cycle optimization. Provide executive leadership with clear reporting and insight into AR performance, cash flow, and financial risk. Qualifications Significant leadership experience in skilled nursing Accounts Receivable or Revenue Cycle Management. Strong expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Private Pay reimbursement. Proven experience leading AR teams across multiple facilities. Demonstrated success improving collections, cash flow, and aging performance. Strong analytical and financial acumen. Ability to establish metrics, drive accountability, and improve team performance. Executive presence with strong leadership and communication skills. Experience implementing process improvements and leading organizational change. Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience Multi-facility skilled nursing experience. Experience leading large-scale revenue cycle improvement or transformation initiatives. Familiarity with skilled nursing billing systems and revenue cycle technology. Experience partnering closely with ownership and executive leadership.
