Job description
A growing healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Accounting to support the financial operations of multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This is a high-impact role focused on bringing accounting functions in-house, improving financial visibility, and building scalable reporting processes to support continued growth. The ideal candidate has skilled nursing facility accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for multiple nursing home facilities Develop and enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures Create facility-level financial reports to analyze revenue, expenses, and performance Monitor financial results and identify trends, variances, and cost drivers Collaborate with billing teams and third-party vendors to ensure financial accuracy Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives Partner with executive leadership to improve financial reporting and decision-making Qualifications 3+ years of accounting experience for skilled nursing facilities Experience with Apex software is a plus CPA strongly preferred but not required Comfortable generating financial reports and conducting reconciliations Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Compensation & Benefits $200,000-$250,000 salary (based on experience) Paid time off and holidays Professional growth and advancement opportunities High-visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership About the Employer The company is a rapidly growing healthcare organization operating multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
