Senior Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a seasoned senior engineer who has spent time in the trenches. You have wrestled with gnarly production issues, debugged problems three layers deep, and gained an intimate understanding of complex systems that others avoid. You thrive on technical minutiae, have dug into the guts of real systems, and genuinely enjoy tackling the difficult challenges that come with them. Responsibilities Platform Infrastructure: You will own much of our infrastructure, including MongoDB query optimization, index strategy, and Elasticsearch tuning. Systems Maintenance: Manage .NET framework migrations, runtime upgrades, and platform-wide security hardening (including authentication, sessions, and rate limiting). DevOps & Tooling: Take charge of Docker containerization, build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and general developer tooling. Testing Ownership: Act as the point person for all test infrastructure. You will improve the framework, expand coverage, author tests, assist the team in writing better tests, and manage data seeding. Inventory Domain Ownership: Fully own our inventory domain. This includes reviewing every PR that touches this codebase, guiding developers, and actively evolving the architecture as the system scales. Technical Leadership: Collaborate closely with the team, providing strong, evidence-based opinions on technical direction based on your deep architectural knowledge. Requirements Senior .NET Expertise: A truly deep understanding of the .NET framework is essential. Data Proficiency: Experience with MongoDB and Elasticsearch is preferred.
