Teacher – Build a Meaningful School Program for Medically Complex Children Location: Brooklyn, NYPosition: Full-Time Ditmas Children's Nursing & Rehab is launching a brand-new school program within our pediatric facility, and we are seeking a dedicated teacher to help bring it to life. Our students are medically complex children who require ongoing nursing care. Many have physical disabilities, developmental delays, or chronic conditions, yet they are eager to learn and thrive when given the right support. This role offers the opportunity to create a structured, engaging, and nurturing classroom tailored to each child’s abilities. We are looking for a compassionate and organized educator who is excited to both teach and build—developing curriculum, designing lesson plans, and establishing a warm and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement curriculum for a new school program Create individualized lesson plans for diverse learners Establish a structured and positive classroom environment Adapt instruction for students with medical and physical needs Track progress and adjust educational plans Collaborate with medical and therapy teams Help shape policies and procedures for the program Qualifications Teaching certification preferred Experience with elementary-aged children Strong organizational and planning skills Compassionate and patient teaching style Comfort working with medically complex children Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team Special education experience a plus To apply, email [email protected] or message 917-842-6489.
