Job description
Position: Eastern Regional Director Organization: AISH New York Location: New York, NY Overview: AISH New York seeks an Eastern Regional Director. He or she is a relationship-driven fundraising professional responsible for building and managing a team of fundraising and support professionals, as well as a portfolio of major gift donors across the tri-state area. This is a field-based role that calls for someone deeply embedded in - or eager to build deeper roots in - the tri-state Jewish community. You will work independently and with the team you put in place, while maintaining full alignment with Aish leadership and the greater team. The position reports to the Executive Vice President and is based in the NYC office. Qualifications: - 10+ years of Major Gift Fundraising experience. - Experience managing Development professionals. - Experience with Tri-State Jewish donors. - Passion for the AISH mission. Key Responsibilities: Major Gifts Fundraising and Team Development - Build and manage a growing portfolio of major gift donors and prospects capable of giving $10,000-$100,000+ annually. - Conduct proactive, in-person donor meetings, cultivation events, and stewardship activities on a consistent basis. - Develop tailored engagement and solicitation strategies aligned with each donor's philanthropic interests and capacity. - Solicit gifts directly and close donations in support of Aish Global initiatives. - Re-engage lapsed donors and convert mid-level donors to major gift level through personalized outreach. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship - Cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families in the tri-state area. - Leverage Aish programming, educational content, and events as meaningful touchpoints in the donor journey. - Coordinate with senior Aish staff and lay leaders to open doors and deepen donor relationships. Work with the CEO and EVP, as well as other AISH subject area experts, to help close major gifts as advisable. - Coordinate and support donor participation in Aish trips and missions to Israel, leveraging these experiences to inspire increased giving upon return. - Steward existing donors through regular communication, impact reporting, and personal engagement. Regional Team Development - Identify, recruit and mentor experienced and successful development professionals to expand our revenue and operations throughout the Greater Eastern region. - Hire, recruit and supervise any support staff needed to assure a professionally running regional presence. Community Building & Networking - Represent Aish at community events, synagogue partnerships, and local philanthropic forums. - Identify and recruit lay leaders and community ambassadors who can support prospecting, introductions, and donor engagement. - Partner with Federations, Foundations, and other Jewish communal organizations to identify collaborative funding opportunities. Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 Note: This is a permanent, on-site position.
