Overview: YSZ is seeking an imaginative and highly organized Student Activities Coordinator to bring a wide variety of student programs to life. If you love the excitement of planning meaningful events, enjoy party planning, and working with teens, and thrive on creative challenges, this role is tailor-made for you. Picture yourself designing unforgettable Shabbatons, planning vibrant freshman retreats, organizing brain breaks, and creating engaging Rosh Chodesh programs - all aimed at inspiring growth and connection for our students and their families. We're looking for someone who can think outside the box, make genuine connections with students, and create programming that sparks transformation and lasting impact. Whether you're coordinating a large event or mentoring student leaders, your work will be central to shaping an enriching and dynamic school experience. This role will occasionally require evening or weekend management for extracurricular events like Chagigot, Shabbatons and the like. Qualifications: - Creative Planner: You have a talent for creating original and engaging student programs, always seeking new ways to inspire and engage students. - Highly Organized: You have exceptional organizational skills, able to manage multiple activities and timelines with precision and efficiency. - Leadership Mentor: You enjoy guiding students in leadership roles and working collaboratively with staff to design meaningful programs. - Informal Educator: You thrive in creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences outside the traditional classroom, using creative and interactive approaches to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth in students. - Team Player: You excel in collaborative environments, working seamlessly with colleagues, students, and staff to achieve shared goals. You value open communication, support others, and contribute positively to a dynamic and unified team effort. - Bachelor's degree. - Experience in organizing and managing events (experience in education is a plus). - Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple programs and events smoothly. - Creative thinker who can design innovative and impactful student programs. - Excellent interpersonal skills for building strong connections with students, staff, and families. - Passion for working with teens and understanding their developmental needs. - Collaborative team player who communicates well and supports colleagues. Key Responsibilities: - Event Planning and Execution: Plan and manage a variety of student programs, including Shabbatons, freshman retreats, Rosh Chodesh programs, and brain breaks, ensuring that each event is engaging, meaningful, and well-organized. - Student Leadership Development: Mentor and guide student leaders in planning and running their own events, fostering responsibility, creativity, and leadership skills through hands-on experience. - Creative Program Design: Develop innovative programs that inspire personal and spiritual growth, fostering a sense of community, connection, and transformation for students and their families. - Logistics and Coordination: Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including timelines, budgets, resources, and volunteer coordination, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish. - Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with staff, administration, and student leaders to design and implement events that align with the school's mission and goals, contributing to a cohesive and supportive environment. - Community Building: Create opportunities for students to connect with one another and with the broader school community through informal educational experiences that go beyond the classroom. - Flexibility and Adaptability: Be prepared to handle last-minute changes or challenges, demonstrating problem-solving skills and ability to adapt while keeping events on track. Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 Note: This is a permanent, on-site position.
