Director of Support and Wellness

JQ International, a leading LGBTQ+ Jewish nonprofit, is seeking an innovative and experienced Director of Support and Wellness to nurture and improve queer Jewish mental health and wellness. This is a role for someone who can hold both program vision and execution and who is fluent in the wellness challenges faced by queer Jews. In this position you will hold the vision and primary responsibility for executing JQ's key programmatic efforts for queer Jewish wellness, including helping LGBTQ+ individuals and families navigate communal support services, conceiving and executing wellness and psychoeducation programming, and compiling and disseminating community resources. Responsibilities: • Oversee the JQ Helpline, including training and supervision of staff and volunteers, maintaining resource databases and responding to inquiries • Ensure high-quality support groups and create new groups based on community needs; hire and supervise facilitators • Develop and facilitate trainings and workshops on topics including LGBTQ+ 101, suicide prevention, gender-affirming care, self-care and intersectional identities • Serve identity-specific populations including Queer Jews of Color, Transgender and Nonbinary Jews, Queer Jewish Women, clergy, clinical staff, parents and the Persian LGBTQ+ community • Manage the Queer Teen Wellness Initiative Qualifications: • LCSW/LMFT preferred, or equivalent experience • Knowledge of LGBTQ+ counseling/advocacy and Jewish communal resources • High EQ, experience with racial justice and gender equity, and commitment to confidentiality • Ability to attend weekly meetings in and around Los Angeles Location: Hybrid, approximately 70% work from home and 30% in person in Los Angeles. Salary: $75,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience, plus competitive benefits including healthcare and discretionary time off.
