Job description
The BBYO Genesis Fellowship is a two-year program ending June 30, 2028. As a Genesis Fellow in Columbus, you'll play a pivotal role in BBYO's success by working closely with teens to create strong programs, develop leadership skills and make their chapters great for Jewish teens. Responsibilities: • Work directly with teens (grades 6-12) to create impactful, fun and dynamic programs in their local chapters • Mentor teen leaders and deliver leadership training • Work with teens to attract and retain members to build and grow chapters • Guide teens in establishing an annual calendar that drives engagement and recruitment • Build relationships with key volunteers, parents, partners and stakeholders in the community • Recruit new members to join BBYO and attend summer programs • Facilitate the planning process for citywide and regional events including overnight conventions • Direct teen leadership programs at summer camp • Manage the Columbus BBYO email inbox and assist with newsletters, social media and phone follow-ups Qualifications: • 1-3 years of work and/or volunteer experience; a bachelor's degree or higher required • Experience with youth or teens in a youth organization or camp environment preferred • General knowledge of Jewish culture and calendar; organized with attention to detail • Ability to travel and staff a summer leadership program for 2-3 weeks • Access to reliable transportation Salary: $50,000-$52,000, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on individual performance.
