BBYO Chapter Specialist, Austin, TX

Job description

As a Chapter Specialist, you'll work closely with chapters in Austin to enhance their programming, engagement and overall impact for Jewish teens. Responsibilities: • Work directly with teens (grades 8-12) to create impactful, fun and dynamic programming • Coach teens on recruitment and retention strategies that build and grow their chapters • Support teens in building and executing chapter calendars with a consistent programming cadence • Be present at chapter events and meetings, providing guidance, supervision and mentorship as the adult in the room • Ensure chapter participation in region-wide and organization-wide initiatives including BBYO Summer Programs, ILN and International Convention • Track and analyze chapter data including attendance, engagement and membership trends • Build relationships with members, parents and community partners • Participate in monthly professional development with fellow Chapter Specialists Qualifications: • Must be at least 3 years removed from high school • Must live within or close to Austin, TX; active participation at local chapter programs required (2-4x a month) • Ability to transport self to and from chapter or regional events • A creative and responsible self-starter comfortable taking initiative and collaborating with teens • Background in BBYO or a similar youth/Jewish organization preferred but not required Time Commitment: 8-10 hours a week (will vary), some nights and weekends required, September - May. Pay: $12.50 per hour.
