Social Work Long Term Substitute / Lower School Associate Teacher

Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School seeks an experienced school Social Worker to serve as an Associate Teacher in 2nd Grade from August through October, followed by filling a long-term leave as a Social Worker from October through February. This individual should be passionate about advocating for and supporting students, skilled in nurturing relationships, an outstanding communicator, and knowledgeable in the developmental needs of children in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Responsibilities: • Deliver clinical services to students on caseload and within the school community, including progress monitoring, goal setting, assessment and behavioral intervention plans • Coordinate collaboration and consultation with teachers, parents, administration and private providers • Provide crisis response and interventions for students in critical need; offer parent consultation • Support lead teachers with documentation of student learning, individual and group support, and preparation of teaching materials • Supervise students at recess, lunch, drop-off and other school duties as assigned • Design, develop and support implementation of social-emotional curriculum Qualifications: • Current LCSW or LCPC license and master's degree in social work or counseling (required) • Illinois state licensure for school social work preferred • Social work experience in a school setting and working with students with diverse learning needs • Experience reading and interpreting diagnostic assessments Compensation: $195 per day.
