4th Grade Secular Studies Teacher

Job description

Lehrman Community Day School is looking for a dynamic, energetic teacher for its elementary school. The ideal candidate will love children, understand and develop the whole child, and be comfortable teaching various subjects in upper elementary school (3rd, 4th and 5th grades). Responsibilities: • Teach math, reading, writing and social studies • Plan lessons ahead of time and share them with the Director of Education • Work with a variety of abilities within the classroom • Collaborate with team members • Communicate with parents in a respectful, professional and appropriate manner Qualifications: • Minimum of three years of experience as an elementary teacher • Comfortable working in a Jewish day school and committed to Lehrman's mission, values and philosophy • Commitment to collaboration and a deep understanding of young children and appropriate educational pedagogy • Ability and desire to connect meaningfully with parents and students from diverse backgrounds • A master's degree in a related field • Personal qualities of integrity, kindness, approachability and a strong work ethic Founded in 1960 by Rabbi Irving Lehrman, Lehrman Community Day School is the only pluralistic Jewish day school in Miami Beach, serving children from preschool through fifth grade with a commitment to academic excellence and Jewish values in a caring and nurturing environment.
