After School Camp Counselor

Job description

Compensation: $15.00-$17.00 per hour, depending on experience and education. Working hours are 2:30pm-6:00pm, 5 days a week, with the possibility of a 3-day per week schedule. No nights or weekend work. Counselors work with a group of children each afternoon in JCamps After School, leading them in various afterschool activities. Counselors are assigned to either the Kindergarten or 1st-5th grade groups, and groups may be different every day. As group leader and facilitator, the Counselor is responsible for day-to-day programming and supervision of their group in a program built on inclusivity, healthy relationships and meaningful activities. Responsibilities: • Drive a 15-passenger van to pick up children from local elementary schools each afternoon (training provided) • Manage the daily routine and activities for the assigned group • Implement group activities, crafts and projects; maintain accurate rosters • Accountability for children's emotional needs, health and safety at all times • Daily cleaning measures including sanitizing surfaces, bathrooms and supplies • Follow emergency management and safety policies Requirements: • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent • Driving experience required • Enthusiasm, patience, humor, strong work ethic and ability to work well on a team and with children • Pass all required criminal history background checks including FBI fingerprint check Benefits: Free Dell JCC Membership including pool, gym, tennis courts and exercise classes.
