Lead 18 Month Teacher, Preschool, 12+ Units

The JCC East Bay seeks a Lead 18 Month Teacher (12+ Units) for its preschool, reporting to the Director of Early Childhood Education. The Lead Teacher promotes a safe, welcoming environment where children grow with a positive self-concept, enriched by a developmentally and culturally appropriate emergent curriculum. Responsibilities: • Develop inquiry-based curriculum that advances children's growth and incorporates Jewish community, values, and traditions • Establish and maintain a safe, well-organized, healthy classroom and appropriate staff-to-child ratios • Observe and assess each child's development and share observations with families • Communicate with parents through daily conversation, conferences, and a classroom newsletter • Mentor less-experienced teachers and pursue ongoing professional development Qualifications: • 1–2 years of experience in an ECE setting and 12 or more completed ECE units • Bachelor's or Associate's degree highly preferred • First Aid and CPR certification; knowledge of current ECE research and practices • Commitment to the JCC East Bay mission and to learning about Jewish community, values, and traditions Salary: $30.53–$32.09 per hour ($55,000–$65,000).
