Director, Events & Engagement

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington seeks a Director, Events & Engagement to lead its Events function — overseeing strategy, planning, and execution of the event portfolio with a focus on signature community gatherings, donor experiences, leadership events, and major initiatives. This role personally leads the organization's most complex events while building the systems, standards, and team that elevate event planning across the organization. Responsibilities: • Lead strategy, planning, and execution of Federation's signature events and donor experiences • Develop event concepts, program content, and speaker preparation that advance fundraising and engagement goals • Serve as Federation's lead advisor on event planning and experience design, setting standards and best practices • Supervise, coach, and develop the Events team Qualifications: • 7+ years leading complex events, including large-scale, high-profile gatherings • Exceptional leadership, project management, and operational planning skills • Experience leading teams and collaborating across stakeholders; nonprofit or mission-driven experience preferred • Familiarity with Jewish customs and community life preferred Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage; retirement plan with employer contribution; generous PTO including Jewish holidays; up to 6 weeks paid parental leave (after one year); commuter bonus; hybrid work environment.
