Job description
The Manager of Community Engagement plays a central role in bringing the JCC East Bay's vision to life as a vibrant hub for Jewish arts, ideas, and culture. Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Manager supports the production of 50-65 annual programs — performances, lectures, workshops, holiday markets (Shouks), and community gatherings — serving as on-site producer, coordinating logistics and partnerships, and helping build engagement pathways for older adults, families, and young adults. The JCC East Bay opens its new flagship East Bay Jewish Community Campus in Oakland's Rockridge neighborhood in 2026. Qualifications include 3-5 years of experience in programming, event production, or community engagement; strong project management and organizational skills; experience working with artists, educators, or community partners; and availability for regular evening and weekend hours tied to the program schedule. Familiarity with Jewish culture, calendar, and community life is preferred. Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 annually. Full-time, exempt position (approximately 37.5 hours/week); on-site presence required for most events. Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick pay, and holidays (including Jewish).
