Job description

The Youth Care Worker is a non-exempt position responsible for the well-being and safety of children at the Unaccompanied Children Program. Responsibilities: - Maintain awareness of children's whereabouts and complete wellness and accountability reports, conducting 30-minute, 15-minute, or 1:1 checks as required - Serve as a supportive and positive role model for the social and personal development of all children - Observe and assist children at meals and snack times, especially those with dietary restrictions - Keep the Shift Lead informed of changes in children's appearance or behavior, supply needs, and any areas of concern - Assist with daily living activities, doctor appointments, outings, and case management, and transport clients as needed - Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention - Maintain the required staff/client ratio in accordance with ORR regulations and document children's behavior and interactions Compensation & Benefits: - $19.00 per hour, plus $0.50/hour for 2nd shift and $1.00/hour for overnight and weekend hours - 15 PTO days and 13 paid holidays per year - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Continuous training, professional development, and mileage reimbursement Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent and two years of direct care experience working with children - Experience in a residential or mental health treatment setting preferred - Bilingual skills required in clients' spoken languages (Haitian Creole and/or French) - Proof of immunization for Varicella, MMR, Influenza, and Tdap - Valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage
